In Halima Ahmad Mahmud's haunting performance, death becomes a linguist without tongue, a translator of silences that echo across every threshold where breath falters and finally breaks.
What language does it speak? Perhaps death speaks in the universal grammar of absence, in the syntax of empty chairs and cold sheets, in the dialect of photographs that no longer animate with recognition.
Halima asks us to consider whether death converses in our mother tongues or whether it reduces all our carefully constructed sentences to the same fundamental silence, the same vast emptiness that knows no borders, no translations, no misunderstandings.
